The owner is an artist, and used our design as a canvas for her creativity. Barrel vaulted roofs are covered with pre-curved heavy gauge metal roofing. The roof forms are echoed in the ceilings, which are covered with reed matting. She eschewed the use of metal in the plaster prep, using burlap for reinforcement at material intersections. Active solar features include domestic hot water and photovoltaics. The super-insulated passive-solar shell utilizes two space heaters for back-up heat.
